Tereza Sheyla is one of the pioneers in bringing Egyptian folklore to her homeland, the Czech Republic. Her passion took her to Egypt many times, travelling around the country, learning about traditions by talking to locals, watching their celebrations and taking interviews with cultural ambassadors.
Her teachers were also legends such as Kharia Mazin, Mahmoud Reda, Nesma, Mohamed Shellaby, Fifi el Saed, Kamal Naim, Sahra Saeeda and many more.
Thanks to her work and research she could be part of cultural projects organized by EU, Ministry of Interior and Center for foreigners with aim to educate youth about cultural differences, doing lectures and exhibitions for public and activities for foreigners.
Sheyla directed an international festival Tales of Sahara for 8 years, founded an online magazine that transformed to podcast Orient Express Live! and found an annual conference for Czech and Slovak dance teachers.
